Maldives Police Service has arrested an expatriate for preparing alcohol. The individual was arrested from a Male’ City residence.

Maldives Police Service yesterday confirmed arresting a 34 year old male from a residence in Male’ City. MPS however, did not disclose the nationality and personal identity of the suspected individual.

Inspection was carried out by the MPS at the residence in Henveiru Roashanee Magu due to plumes of smoke observed emitting from the same house. Police raided the residence October 13, Thursday last week. The entrance of the law enforcement was forceful,  after door step calls went unanswered.

Several items used for alcohol production were taken away by the police from the residence.
